PEARL LAGOON CAYS 2 Cordoba Workers Scrip - Item 189
I can suppose the idea here was to match the stiff thick paper to the beauty of the waters found amoung these beautiful small dots of land on the eastern side of Nicaragua. The only denomination known, these notes are simple, yet due to the paper's swirls of blue, lovely. You will note the two sided notes are identical on each side. They measure roughly 3.25 inches by 2.25 inches which is largers than the typical worker's chit that is normally the size of a paper stub off what is a ticket roll. Perhaps they were printed in Bluefields, but that is only a guess on my part. If you care for one of the islands or perform domestic services for an island owner or are an employee at one of the small resorts, chances are you'd have a stash of these handed to you as pay.
