EXCELSIOR 2008 Coins
Shown here are the high relief coin set of circulating value coins. These are: 100 Mills in Titanium at 15 millimeters 200 Mills in Copper at 17 millimeters 1/2 Quart in Brass at 20 millimeters Of interest is the titanium coins. As the story goes, an airplane crash, possibly a military plane, was where the titanium for the coins was found. The people, fearful the downed plane might to blamed on Excelsior, the remains of the craft were taken to a cave to be 'kept from sight' from prying eyes overhead. They noted many aircraft overhead for days. One male, deceased, was given a Christian burial. These coins, 100 of the 500 which were minted, were sold out in 10 days. The coins came with the stamped envelope and a sample banknote from Excelsior at an issue price of $49.50
